Not sure what to say?

Richard was a wonderful friend at school and St. Michael's church. I was crushed when I learned of his passing. He lived a beautiful story and I can only imagine what the next chapters would have been! We love you Richard!

Dear Gail,
Edna called the other day to say that Richard had died. Our hearts ache for you and your family. It sure has been a long time since our days on Orange Hill Drive, and all of us having babies within 6 weeks of each other. Please know you all our in our thoughts and prayers.
Love to you all, Charlcie and Charlie Towne

It was truly a pleasure working with Richard at Scotty's, then again at Sweet's.
He was a real inspiration in my life and will be greatly missed.
Gail, you and your family have been in my prayers for a long time and will continue to be.
Love and prayers,
Nell Tillery

Gail, Erin, Scott & Jimmy,
I am so sad to learn of Richard's passing. I have thought about you so much recently - your Christmas card came back. That and the fact that Jimmy and Matthew almost share the same birthday - Matt was 26 on Jan. 8. Wasn't Jimmy's special day Jan. 10? This past week you have especially been in my thoughts and I kept meaning to Google you guys. Today at lunch I finally made time and was overwhelmed when Richard's obituary came up. Wonderful memories came flooding...

To the Martineau Family:

It was with profound sadness that I read of Richard's passing in the Ledger last week.

Richard worked with my husband, Kevin, at Arthur Anderson and Scotty's years ago.

I remember one day when I went to pick Kevin up and I was sitting in the car, there was a tap on the window and there was Richard. He told me he didn' want to tap too hard so it wouldn't startle me. He was truly a gentle man.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your...

If you are very fortunate, you get to meet a couple of people like Richard in your life. When I first met him in jr. high in Gainesville, I immediately knew - everyone knew, he was one of those rare bright, classy people, with tremendous integrity. Best wishes to Gail and the wonderful Martineau family!

Gail and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all today, tomorrow and each day ahead.
Our Deepest Sympathy,
Dr. Thomas R. Johnson and Staff

Richard was a man of integrity, honor, and good humor. He was an astute business man. Working with him was a real pleasure.

Gail, our sincere sympathy to you and the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was a classmate of Richard's at GHS. This year is our 40th reunion and I was hoping to see many of our classmates then, Richard to be included. That will not be but I will be sure his name is brought up in rememberance. Too many have passed on already. Hope they are all having a heavenly reunion.
