We met Dick when we became a neighbor in Marienville. we would see him walking all the time. We got to be friends at the nursing hime his Mom was in. He was always polite and we really got to know him and Donna. We will be sadden at his passing.

I first met Dick when he was probably about twelve years old, not long after his father passed away.One afternoon when Chuck and I were in Marienville for a visit, we took a bunch of the kids to Cook Forest for an outing. We decided to stop at a quaint little place for lunch. Dick ws very mature and responsible for a twelve year old, and he was determined to pay for his and Bruce's lunch. Dick was a special guy to me. Dick was my second cousin. I did not get to know Dick until we were both older. He was a kind and gentle soul. My Father was Dick's first cousin. When I first met Dick I felt as if I was in my dad's presence. They were so much alike in many was. I shared a walk with Dick down to Salmon Creek, On the walk back to Dick & Donna's place, Dick told me town folks had been seeing a Bear drinking out of Salmom Creek. Needless to say I walked back up the hill faster...
