A mutual friend of Richard´s and mine apprised me of Richard´s death only this morning, a year after his passing. Richard and I met through mutual friends in the 80´s. I share, in thinking back over 40 years of friendship, so many of the same recollections so many of you have enumerated in your odes to him, namely Richard´s gentle, thoughtful, generous, loyal nature.
