Not sure what to say?

Sending our love and thoughts to Mrs. Nishimura, Scott and Dale during this time. I feel so fortunate to have known Mr. Nishimura. He more than just a neighbor, he was family, and was like a grandfather to me. I remember learning to ride my bike in the cul-de-sac in front of their house. One day I fell off my bike and scraped my knee - he got his Red Flyer Wagon out of his garage, scooped me up, and wheeled me back home. What I remember most was his love for his garden. I enjoyed the...

Richard was a gentle, calm and kind man. He loved his family, church, gardening and community service. He always spoke with a smile and and connected with you with interest, listening with intent and asking about your welfare. He was always positive, with us on the receiving end of his fruits of loving labor, his apricots and vegetables, so fresh and organic! He will be missed, but has left a wide happy path for us to follow. Our deepest condolence to Jane, our dear cousin, and to Dale and...

I met Scott's parents in their home, which coincidentally was right next to my parent's neighborhood at the time. I went to several fun dinner parties there and enjoyed the Asian furnishings and art along with good conversation. Richard was a gentle soul and a very likeable person.

Aloha mai e Aunty Jane, Dale and Scott: Our love and our aloha are with you during this time of loss and transition. We believe that Uncle Richard is now reunited with his parents, siblings, and friends who left this earthly plane before him. We are sure that they are talking story, catching up, and perhaps growing amazing fruit on some heavily laden trees. We know we will see him again in the future and that he is cultivating plumeria to welcome us when our time is right. We love you all and...

I first met the Nishimura family, when we moved in across the street over 50 years ago. I always admired Mr. Nishimura's beautiful garden and know what a kind man he was. I pray that Jane, Dale, and Scott experience God's comfort and peace at this time. He surely made an impact on all of us and will be missed.

Mr. Richard Nishimura, the best backyard neighbor ever! So friendly, nice, cheerful, insightful and always willing to help me and my family. We would often talk over the backyard block wall about gardening and my family. He has the best Wisteria tree in Torrance, such beautiful flowers we get to enjoy every Spring. Richard would walk over Kaki, apples, and lemons from his fruit trees. His wife Jane made flower leis from Richard´s plumeria trees and agapanthus flowers that he tended too all...

We met Jane and Richard through our friend, Scott. We will always remember Richard and Jane´s warmth and hospitality when we visited, their stories of the past, and the beauty of Richard´s garden. He will be missed.
