It is said that cousins are our first friends and I believe that to be true. Growing up with our Renell-Phillips-Mahan families has special memories for me.....playing in the driveway on Barnard Street (with the screen door locked so we would stay outside!), Christmas dinners at the kids' table, always banished to the 'den', camping together with our families, and then as adults to share the joyous moments of having and raising children of our own. Your kind heart is what I will remember most...

The Adams children were blessed living next door to all of the Phillips family on Englewood Ave. I distinctly remember the joy we ALL felt when poppa Phillips got home from work each day. His love of family and life was infectious. He made every Englewood Ave kid feel special. The most remarkable gift he elicited was that all of his song inherited this trait.
