To the Powers family, please accept my sympathy for your great loss. I have many memories of growing up with Dick, my brother Toad and I played baseball with Dick in high school as well as summer leagues. We had many great times riding in the "cream beauty", a 1941 chevy that Dick owned during our high school days. Dick will always be remembered by me as an excellent teacher in union leadership. He faithfully represented and served all of constituents. He often displayed kindness especially in his giving to foster children and others who suffered misfortune. He treated me well and I, in turn, returned the same respect. I am truly sorry to read of Dick's passing. May he rest in peace.
