Not sure what to say?

Dick's mentoring changed my life. Not a day passes by, without me thinking of his impact. Rest in peace mentor Dick.

I just saw Dick's obituary. After my parents and wife, he was the most influential person in my life. I learned so much from him as his PhD student, spending 5 years full-time with him at OSU. We had our run-ins and disagreements but I reflect on my time with him and our conversations regularly

I just now saw Dr. Pratte's obituary. He was my favorite professor at OSU when I was in my doctoral program. What an intellectual! He challenged students every day and enlightened us in ways I didn't know were possible. His impact on the education world and his students is immeasurable.

My deepest sympathy. Dick was one of my closest friends and teachers. Had the pleasure of working with him at Ohio state for twenty years. I miss him. Otto santos

Thank you, Dr. Pratte, for giving me a lifelong appreciation of History.
