We miss this great man. Richard was so easygoing and ready to share his knowledge through conversation and his wonderful books and art. We loved spending time browsing and selecting our favorite art books and even purchased a limited edition lithograph by José Luis Cuevas--given to Richard by his daughter. I met Richard just before I moved to Sacramento from the Bay Area. A friend told me about his art bookstore and, from the moment I entered, I knew I'd found a home. It was perfect--a tired couch, a sagging armchair, classical music. There were faded rugs of Persian splendor, Tiffany lamps , small tables and Wilhelm, a fat friendly cat.
