Not sure what to say?

I remember Richard going off to college when I was young and lived inn South Hadley Falls. I was a friend of Norman. We were Boy Scouts together. May he rest in peace. It would be nice to connect with Norman.

As a longtime admiring colleague of Dick Provost at the University of Hartford, I think of him fondly every time I drive up or down Bloomfield Avenue. Dick was, of course, among the longest longtime colleagues we faculty members treasured. His fifty-years of service to students, school, and community far exceeded my mere thirty-five, both in quantity and quality. To all who knew Dick, and therefore loved him, I send my never-ending condolences. How privileged we were to know him. Bill Stull,...

This reminder comes automatically each year. I am so happy for this as my memories of Dick bring warmth to my heart and a smile to my face.

Renee; I just learned of Dick's passing from Alan Hoffman, with whom I had lunch yesterday. I an deeply sorry for his passing and for being so late with this letter. He was the guitarist in my quartet as you may remember from our meeting many years ago. He was terrific! I couldn't have asked for a better guitar player and colleague. I know what you're feeling. I lost my wife, Olga this past January and am having a hard time dealing with it. Again, my condolences. I have nothing but fond...

Dick's talents for guitar teaching and performance were exceeded only by his talents for friendship. I well remember than when he retired after SIXTY years of inspiring service to the University of Hartford, a colleague said to me, "Was he born here?" Dick's day-glow smile and generosity of spirit were and remain gifts to all of us.

Dick was an extremely good and kind man. When I was a student, he was always interested in me, my progress, and my future. I have always held this support dear and precious. He recommended me to tutor a guitarist in music theory. I was deeply honored and prepared extensively. From these sessions came my decision to dedicate my career to teaching. I hold Dick as largely responsible for my choice. He and that guitarist would eventually marry. Renee, please accept my condolences and deep...

To Professor Provost´s Family: First, my deepest sympathy. I had the pleasure knowing Dick while working at Hartt. Every time we passed one another in the hallway or at a meeting, he took the time to converse with me. He was genuinely engaged in those chats and I loved that about him. He was caring and compassionate and his students learned so much from his extraordinary talent in classical guitar. He was respected by all the faculty, students and staff. I mourn his loss a great deal. ...

Dick was such a wonderful friend and colleague. Many fond memories of lunches out during my Hartt days (Blimpie!) and great recording sessions. Condolences to Renee and the family.

My condolences to the Provost family. Dick was a wonderful neighbor and a good man.
