Richard Clark "Dick" Stanton
June 13, 1938 - February 5, 2022
Kingsburg, California - Richard Clark "Dick" Stanton, 83, of Lone Pine, California, passed away peacefully with family at his bedside on February 5, 2022 following a brief bout with cancer. Born and raised in Fresno, Dick graduated Fresno High School in 1956, and was drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed at Ft. Rucker, Alabama from 1961 to 1963. Following his military service, Dick returned to California, residing in various locations before settling in the Fresno area. His quick wit served him well as he tended bar for a number of years. He relocated to Bakersfield and worked in sales until retiring to Lone Pine, CA where he would pursue his passions for reading, fishing, playing golf, and spending time with his beloved dogs. He is survived by his daughter, Valerie Stanton (partner Doug Southard) of Clovis, CA; his son, Michael Stanton (wife Kelly), of Portland, OR; 7 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He will be interred at the Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, CA on Weds., February 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life in Fresno will be announced at a later date.
