Not sure what to say?

Great memories as clear as yesterday. Lucky me, lucky us.

Today I am remembering our early morning tennis in Laconia during the years before I moved to Massachusetts.

When i heard about Dick's passing - i found it hard to believe. He was such a vibrant, energetic, passionate, friendly, and warm human being. I met Dick and Ruth through the SD support group they initiated and organized twice/year, for many years, at the Lahey Clinic in MA, for people and their friends and family who were afflicted with the SD voice disorder. They arranged for for the space, the speakers, brought refreshments, and created a supportive community.

dear ruth and elizabeth and family, our hearts go out to you as you journey through this passage in life. dick was kind and thoughtful human being. so sorry for your loss. numbers 6:24-26

Dick and my late husband, Bob Duncan, were college roommates at Lawrence COllege in APpleton, Wisconsin. Being laconically wry New Englanders drew them to each other in many ways. I still think of their friendship as strong, despite both of their passings. I also dearly loved Dick's sister Anne, who was at Lawrence, too. So I hope to get to the memorial service, weather permitting, to convey my deep regrets and sorrow in person.

Dick and I were classmates in college. Then and through out his life he represented the best in advocating peace, equality and justice for all. He represented goodness. I will miss his examples of what he did each day to make the world a better place for all.

Ruth and family: I am sadden to hear of Dick's passing. Whenever you two ushered at the CCANH, you two always had happy smiles and always helped out wherever it was needed. I wish you strength. Please remember to hold your memories of him close in our heart and he will always be with you.

My deepest sympathy to Ruth and family as you move through this time of loss. Dick was a strong presence in the NHCUCC during my years as a Conference Minister, and I have followed his passion for social justice and his living it out, via his and Ruth's postings in these ensuing years. Deo Gracias.
