What a wonderful man and boss - kind, compassionate, fun, hard-working, always expecting your best effort. Mr. Vogel was the store manager when I got my very first job at the Big Bear store on W. Broad Street in 1956. In his own special way, he set an example for all of his employees. I met my husband at Big Bear when he hired on as a carry-out boy. What fun days! We both left for college after high school graduation but would see Mr. Vogel occassionally in various Big Bear stores and...
