Rick,
Nothing but fond memories of good times we shared and the adventures we sought. Of course, our ski trips are some of my most vivid memories especially those to Ironwood in the UP! You were a good friend to me.
Kirk

I had the pleasure to attend Parkside, swim on the school team, and many other early life contacts with Rick. Always a good memory.

So sorry to hear this sad news about my high school friend. We both worked together for his dad at Jayda construction during the summer back in the day. Rick in his green and white Spartan hard hat and me in my maize and blue Wolverine hard hat. He was a skilled carpenter. Not surprised to hear of his very accomplished career in the land development business. Go Green, Go White, Rick. The world is a much less jovial place without you, My sincere condolences to the Hurula family.

Craig and I were so saddened and shocked to hear this news. Rick was a great friend for close to 40 years for me, longer for Craig. Rick was a great person, wonderful friend and true Spartan.

I am sadden and shocked to learn about my Parkside High School friend and neighbor, Rick. He will remain a memory of kindess and a gentle soul in my heart.

And for the next 17 years it's been one of us or all of us at Spartan Game Watches from "The Vine" to "McDuffys" to "The Upper Deck" to "Majerles" to "Bevvy" and finally to "Wasted Grain." Rick was at them all. Sometimes, when the Spartans were losing, it was just Rick and I doing a two person game watch and I'd ask,...
