With great sadness and many broken hearts, we announce to many that when Rick was called, he reached out his hand to the Almighty God and went home. So sad for all of us, but a reunion for him. That we could never ever even imagine in having said that we want to thank the outpouring of love and support from so many.
Rick was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 14, 1973. It was a cold winter day, but that beautiful baby boy warmed up the room and hearts of so many. Rick lived his life to the fullest and did so, in his way. He was brilliant-he excelled in school and went from the 6th grade to the 10th grade. I believe that, that year only three other students accomplished that in Utah. Rick loved the outdoors, boating, fishing, camping and being around family. He made us so proud of him in so many ways. He loved with all he had. Those of you around him know how much he loved you. Rick became a great cook and hosted many events in his home.
His children, Dominic, Alec, Kadyn and little Kaelie were the ultimate loves of his life. He was employed with Ray Fastner's for many years.
Rick is survived by his most loving and wonderful parents, John & Mary Sanchez; his loving & caring parents, Dean & Pat Rains; his loving & giving parents, Greg & Jenny Cordova; his children, Dominic, Alec, Kadyn & Kaelie; his loving siblings, Mike & Carol Sanchez, Wanda Wheeler, Peter & Brenda Wolfgramm, Daphne & Tony Sanchez Quintana, Nick-Niltza Rains, Shaun-Jessica Rains, Adam & Stephanie Herrera, Jeremy Cordova, Tiffany Anderson; God children, Tenise Sanchez, Peter Jr. Wolfgramm & Aliyah Rains; Closest friends, Mike Pack, Phil Gaitan, Franco Mares & John Martell-whom he considered his brothers; uncles; aunts; cousins; nieces & nephews; and too many friends to mention. Preceded in death by his loving great-grandparents; cousin, Andy Sanchez; his dear love, Chelsa Larson; and loving friends, Efren Gallegos and Dennis Miera.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 12 Noon at the First Pilgrim Baptist Church, 5133 South Heath Avenue (Approximately 5000 W), with a viewing from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com

I'm thinking of you as I often do. I can't express how much I miss you. I still wait for you to walk through the door with your babies,and a great big grin and excitement. I cherish the years when I could hold you and kiss you. You were such a beautiful child and I loved showing you off to my friends. My baby brother I love you for all eternity. Pat- I am so sorry for the loss of your son.
Although I met you and Rick in a crisis situation his concern and support will always be remembered. I would occasionally run into Rick and he would always show the sincerest and upmost kindness.
