Rita C. Baccaro

Rita (Charbonneau) Baccaro, 86, of Southington, beloved wife of Victor Baccaro, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Rita was born in St. Albans, VT on June 20, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Andre and Laura (Gratton) Charbonneau. Rita was formerly employed in the HR Department of LIMRA in Windsor, CT where she retired from in 1998. She was a very active member of the Church of St. Dominic of Southington. Rita lived her life by the 3F's - Faith, Family and Friends. Family was everything to her. She loved spending time with her husband, four children and 8 grandchildren. She especially enjoyed summer vacations on the Cape creating memories with her family. For the past eighteen months, Rita courageously fought cancer with strength, grace and dignity. Her struggle is now over and God has called her home. Besides her husband of 64 years, Rita is survived by her four children, Laurie Lee and her husband Jonathan of Southington, David Baccaro and his wife Susan of Trumbull, Cindy Ferguson and her husband Eric of Shrewsbury, MA and Steven Baccaro and his wife Assunta of Burlington. She was a devoted grandmother to Christopher, Jessica, Matthew, Thomas, Alexander, Andrew, Nicholas and Jonathan. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Charbonneau of Farmington. Rita was predeceased by her sister-in-law Lena Charbonneau. Rita's family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the healthcare professionals for their compassionate and wonderful care they provided during her illness. A Mass of Christian burial for Rita will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Dominic, 1050 Flanders Rd, Southington. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours for Rita will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N.
