I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll never forget your mom -- both in the classroom and out. She wrote a letter of recommendation for me for college and called me "wholesome." That was the first and last time anyone ever described me that way! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I remember complaining to "Mrs. Mac" that I did not have any interest in reading any of the books she had assigned for a paper (they were all on Watergate -- this was in the '70s). So, she assigned me to read Centennial by James Michener. I think she thought she would be punishing my impudence by assigning me a book that had over 1000 pages, but instead, she created a life-long Michener fan.
