Age 79, of Lemont, passed away, November 13, 2008. Rita was a very active member of St. Alphonsus Church, donating much of her time to the church. She was also a member of the Lemont Area Historical Society.

Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond N. Zoleski; her parents, Michael and Susan Heinz; two brothers, Leroy and Laurence Heinz; and two brothers-in-law, Leonard Zolecki and Marvin Ludwig.

Survived by her children, Barb (Joe) Bannon, Dan (Bonnie) Zolecki and Greg (Linda) Zolecki; five grandchildren, Matt (Carolyn) Zolecki, Valerie Zolecki, Meghan Bannon, and Josh and Krystle Zolecki; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Madelyn; her sister, Margaret (Harry) Grabo; three sisters-in-law, Rita Ludwig, Mary Heinz, and Lucille Zolecki; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation Sunday, 2 - 8 p.m. at the Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C., 108 Illinois St., Lemont. Funeral services Monday, November 17, 2008, 9:30 a.m. to St. Alphonsus Church, Lemont, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Alpbonsus Church, 625 State St., Lemont, IL 60439.

My mom, Morella (Kieft) Johnson had been friends with Rita since childhood. My mom grew up on State Street. Just one year ago I was fortunate to meet Rita for the first time in my adult life and thoroughly enjoyed my visit with her (and Cyrilla). Rita had been a true friend to mom throughout the years keeping in touch with letters and phone calls. Mom passed away October 13th, just one month before Rita.
