Cherished son of the late Kostas (late Zofia) Aleksiunas; beloved father of Raymond (Michelle) Aleksiunas, and Linda (William) McConaughy; adored grandfather of Michael, Maria, and Meghan McConaughy, and Emma Aleksiunas; dearest brother of Julia Danta, of Exton, PA, and Algird Aleksiunas of Pickerington, OH; former spouse of Regina (Lukauskas) Aleksiunas.

I first met Aleks in Germany on a cruise down the Neckar River in Heidelberg. Aware of his heritage I held up my beer stein and said “Sveiks!” He smiled and countered with a barrage of Lithuanian words I didn’t understand. We found common roots in having both lived in Chicago and shared a great appreciation of Lithuanian cuisine. He was one of those persons you meet and never forget.
