Robert Anderson Obituary

Anderson, Robert Clayton
A memorial service celebrating the life of Robert Clayton Anderson, 78, of Ahwatukee will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery chapel with Chaplain Lee E. Arp officiating. Bob Anderson passed away Monday March 7, 2011, at Hospice of the Valley. He was born August 25, 1932 in Villa Grove, Illinois to Chester Alton Anderson and Etta Mae Porter Anderson. Bob served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954 on an aircraft carrier. Bob graduated from the University of Illinois in 1959 with a B.S. in civil engineering. Bob was a Professional Engineer who worked on multiple projects in California, Illinois, and Arizona. Through
out his career he never "sat on the fence" but did the right thing for all who were involved. He was also a "jack of all trades" who could build or repair anything around the house or yard. He loved the outdoors and spent many years traveling, camping, and fishing with his beloved wife Donna. He was a man of good humor and a gentle heart, who often sang love songs to his wife. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Niles and Harold William Anderson; and his beloved daughter Marcee Bryne Anderson. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 56 years, Donna Anderson of Ahwatukee; his son Dr. Mark Anderson and wife Cindy of Tyler, Texas; and daughter Monica Anderson of Chandler, Arizona. The joys of his life were his precious grandchildren Clayton and Taylor of Tyler, Texas; and Kordel Cresswell of Chandler. He is also survived by his sisters Peggy and her husband Jim Goldsberry; and Patsy and late husband Denny Dyar,
along with many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or a charity of your choice. www.GreenAcresMortuary.net
