My Father (Stuart Thompson) and Bob were friends in Malta and they were both born in 1927. I will need to research to see if my Dad was one of the 3 who went to San Francisco to enlist. Bob, my Dad and young men just like them were heroes. I'm sorry for your loss but was happy to read Bob lead a long fulfilling life.
