Bob was one of my best friends throughout grade school and those memorable high school days.
We were very active in the Tilden Boy Scout troop -- competing to see who would earn their Eagle scout ring first. He beat me, as I recall.
Bob was one of the sharpest guys I've ever known. I will cherish the wood carvings he did for me (and surprised me with) when I retired, and later honored me with at my 75th-year gathering in Lincoln.
