ROBERT BOOKER

Mr. Booker was my American History teacher in 1967. He has popped into my mind many times recently as he impressed upon us all that "a democracy is a a fragile thing". Now I´ve learned that a single man can topple a democracy. Funny thing is that I believed nothing could topple our democracy. Damn, he was right. He is still teaching me history.

Coach Booker's five daughters must be very proud of their dad. Coach was bit rough on the edges, but he had a big heart and a kindness that he could not hide, Although our time together at Burlingame was short, I still feel the positive impact he had on my life. Tim Oppezzo class of 68.

I have such fond memories of Mr. Booker (Bouncing Bob) – always one of my favorite teachers. He gave such a warm greeting when you walked into his room or saw him in the hall. I always felt he was glad to see me. I can still picture that wonderfully shy smile he had. He wasn't afraid to make fun of himself, which helped me to be more comfortable with myself. Coach Booker was a great Teacher, Coach, Mentor and Friend. He touch so many lives.We will miss him deeply. I have been coaching High School Football for 26 years now.
