Not sure what to say?

Growing up across the street from Dr. Burnett and his lovely family was a treat. Learning from him as a young intern at the Chamber of Commerce was a great opportunity for me. Ms Mary I am deeply sadden for your loss. I will be sure to stop by on my next visit home.

Sincerely,

Calvin L Butts Jr

What a grand brave man he was. He displayed his values and principles on a daily basis even while ill. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers and I know that God will comfort you as only he can. Rhett said the Dr. Burnett and Father Raulston were in heaven reading Shakespear!

I love you,
Jayne

Education has lost a true champion

human being. My condolences.

I remember Dr. Burnett with great fondness. As Dean, he was ALWAYS available to listen to and guide his students. As Acting President, his door was ALWAYS open.
He was there for us -- he cared for us and was the best cheerleader / guidance counselor / friend that ASC ever had.
Dr. Ashmore was a hard act to follow... so Dr. Burnett forged his own path. A path that led to greatness.
He will be sorely misssed.

He taught us how to live and lead through his own lifestyle. Even more importantly, he was a wonderful man and a true friend. Even though I live in Columbus now and graduated in 1989, I have had the pleasure of his company at various alumni functions. He was always interested in me and my family. Mary,
We were shocked and saddened to read today in the Charlotte Observer of Bob's death. I remember fondly our years at Pfeiffer. Anne Ramsay and I want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
