Burnett, Sr.
Robert Lindburg "Lindy" Burnett Sr., 80, of Lynchburg, passed on Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Christine H. Burnett of Lynchburg.
Born June 25, 1927, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Roy Reeves Burnett and the late Iva Mae Burnett.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children: Robert L. Burnett Jr. of Charlottesville, Susan Wright and husband, Kenneth, of Lynchburg, W. David Burnett and wife, Katherine, of Lynchburg, Kenneth Burnett of Richmond, Mark Burnett of Canandaigua, N.Y., Jason Burnett and wife, Heather, of Minneapolis, Minn. and Catherine Burnett of Lynchburg; one stepson, Nicholas P. Hanneman of Boston, Mass; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Betty Brooks of Danville.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Unity In The Seven Hills Church by the Rev. and Pastor Nancy Purcell.
Family visitation will follow the memorial service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to your local Humane Society.

I was very saddened to learn of Uncle "Virginia City's" passing, I haven't seen him in years but remember him fondly. He will always be my favorite uncle - the best one to play skin the cat with. My sympathies go out to you all. Leslie Bennett (Mark and Jason's cousin)

I always smile when I remember Mr. B. yelling "Tripper, stop eating all my profits!" I liked to eat the Granny Smith apples at the produce stand and they were the most expensive. I'll miss him.
