Not sure what to say?

Just heard of Bob´s untimely death today. Though I left IC my junior year, I was in his 1970 class. I remember him fondly. Never was he not smiling, always warm and friendly, and the biggest cheerleader IC ever had. Our deepest condolences to his wife, his family and all who knew and loved him. Sincerely, Steve & Carol (Webb) Birch

We will always remember Bob´s friendly smile. He was always there to great us at family gatherings on cruises and family dinners. Our sincere condolences to Janet and the entire family.

The Chipman family brought so much joy to my husband, Bill Costello, and me during our Jacksonville days. So many great memories-from Lukeman´s to Brookside Drive and Edgehill Road!! Bless you all as you remember and celebrate the Beloved Bob. His loving kindness will shine forever. Love, Jan Costello

This news hits hard. Our families go so far back to church ties and community. I am especially remembering the deep friendship that Bill Chipman and my father had. (Including tennis games at Don Kolmer's home.) Bob and I got to refresh our relationship when he sold our family home in 2009. On a visit to town, in probably 2019, I decided to head to the bowl for a basketball game. I came in at halftime and Bob spotted me walking the perimeter. I walked down to visit with him and Janet. He said...

Bob was a wonderful person. He will be missed by all who knew him.My condolences to his family and friends.

So much respect for Bob and his family. Praying for healing hearts during this difficult time. We can only imagine the wealth of memories created throughout a life so well-lived.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked at the Morgan County Abstract company many years ago right out of college and Bob was my favorite customer. He was the kindest man I ever met. I was very sad to see he passed away and my thoughts and prayers are sure with all of you. He will be missed, but always remember you will be with him again someday. God Bless. Sincerely, Brandi Fanning Pavlick

When Lanette and I came to Jacksonville in 1998, Bob was one of the first people to extend a hand of friendship to us. As everyone knows, Bob was very active at IC, and as the new Chaplain, he and his son Tim were wonderful in helping me get a personal feel for both the students and the history of the college. I also look back fondly at the relationship that developed between his sons, Tim and Andrew, and my son, Lamar, who were students together at IC. Bob was a wonderful friend, and...

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the honor of working alongside Bob several years ago during the merger of the Jacksonville Association of REALTORS® and the Capital Area Association of REALTORS®. He was an absolute pleasure to get to know and work with. I will never forget his generosity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the Jacksonville community. Bob's legacy will continue in the countless lives he touched. I hadn’t talked with Bob in several years but thought about him often. I’m...
