Not sure what to say?

My sincerest sympathies on Leo's passing. He was one of the sweetest men I have every had the pleasure to know. He will be missed greatly! Love and hugs to you Mrs. Coleman!! You took SUCH excellent care of Leo! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!
Love, Kellie, PCA, Dr. Kasturi Umass Cancer Center

To the Coleman Family,
He was a great teacher who cared about all of us. Really was like a family in the 5th and 6th grade classroom. We learned a lot, tried to push the envelope - with some mixed results. How many other students had an experience where you were able to do some light construction in an elementary classroom. We didn't make a napkin holder, we built a loft. Pretty cool. Nice man will miss him a bunch.

The U/Mass Peace Corps/Teacher Corps experience at U/Mass and in Worcester during the late 60's & early 70's gave me and others the opportunity to be touched by by Leo, a kindred spirit and unique individual whose uplifting and enhancing mark on the world will suvive through generations, for he assisted many throughout his life. He was a soldier of the spirit, an educator, a courageous citizen, a comrade and a friend to mankind. Thank you, Leo, for being in my life.

To the Coleman family,
I am sorry for your loss. I had the good fortune of having Mr. Coleman as my 6th grade teacher at Adams Street School. He will always be remembered as a kind and gifted teacher who loved history and inspired his students to read and learn.

Leo was a beautiful soul, dedicated to all in his well-chosen profession. I appreciated his courage and wisdom in becoming an active participant in our Teacher Corps program (1969-71) and always enjoyed his company. The world is undoubtedly a better place as a result of Leo's having passed through it.

To My Second Family: I will miss him so much. Saying good-bye today was really hard, but seeing everyone gathered to celebrate his life made it easier to endure this sorrowful day. A woman behind me in church tapped me on the shoulder at the end of mass and asked me how I knew him. After explaining our connection she nodded and said simply, "He was a wonderful man." That's an understatement.

Dear Coleman Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I only had the opportunity to meet Leo a few times, but Lynda shared many stories with me back in our Cablevision days. May you find the peace and strength to get through the difficult days and months to come. All my best.
