Bob Neal Corley, Professor, 85, of Sarasota,, FL, died on Dec. 11, 2015.
Robert N. Corley died on December 11 in Sarasota, Florida at the age of 85. His wife, Elinor, proceeded him in death in February, 2009.
Bob was born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1930. He resided in Champaign, Illinois until 1974 when he moved to Athens, Georgia. Shortly afterwards, they purchased a second home in The Meadows in Sarasota.
Bob graduated from the University of Illinois in 1952, and served on active duty as a U.S. Army officer from 1952-54. He received his Law degree from the University of Illinois in 1957, and served as a Professor in the School of Business there until 1974. He then became a Distinguished Professor of Legal Studies at the University of Georgia until his retirement in 1984. Bob volunteered in various positions of leadership in Sarasota County Government, and was very proud to have been able to serve.
Bob is survived by his twin brother, Dr. Richard D. Corley, MD of Peoria, Illinois and his sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Richard Carver of Sarasota, Florida.
Bob also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends, all of whom deeply miss him.
Private services will be held in Champaign, IL

Robert Corley was my prof of business law in1968 at the U of Illinois. He was a fierce but likable and fair teacher. He had the highest energy and he was seriously intent on being a great classroom instructor. He also was a great guy. He was the best. Alan Gingold
