Robert J. Coyle, Sr., 82, of Rostraver Township, formerly of Bedford, died Thursday, October 2, 2025 in his home. He was born August 3, 1943 in New Eagle, the son of Stanley Irwin and Winnifred Pearl Chester Coyle.


Robert resided in Bedford for 30 years before moving back to the Mon Valley a few years ago. He retired from JLG Industries in Bedford with over 25 years of employment. 


He was a member of the American Legion in Bedford, the VFW in Schellsburg, and the Polish Club and Independent Club in Bentleyville. Robert enjoyed hunting with his sons and buddies. He loved his Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.


He is survived by three children, Robert J. Coyle, Jr., Dana Coyle, Chad Coyle; two grandchildren, Tristan and Savannah Coyle; sister, Donna Lynn (Wayne) Lessman; sister-in-law, Patricia Coyle; his beloved beagle, Johnny and grand-dog, Teddy.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Coyle; two sisters, Gloria (Charles) Welch and Zoanna Welch; and brother, Stanley "Butch" Coyle.


There will be no services for Mr. Coyle. Arrangements are entrusted to the Frye Funeral Home, Inc.
