Not sure what to say?

My Mom, Ella Grimes Beedle was the best of friends with Bob and his wife. I heard about them until she died in 2020. He knew so much about Portsmouth! Our family went to "Back home" from PA to Portsmouth our whole lives, and I often traveled with my Mom to see her sister, and Mom always visited Bob. He wa a vibrant man. Even now, I'd like to know things that I remember from Craddock, like how did the Dinky Pool get that name? My cousin and I always went to the Dinky pool as kids, we...

My Mom, Ella Grimes Beedle was a dear friend of Bob and I was lucky enough to meet Bob many times. Mom always talked about "Ruth and Margie", her best friends from high school and I often drove down to Virginia from Pennsylvania where we lived to visit. Ruth was Bobs wife. I was so glad I could have a picture of Mom´s young life through Bob. He was a vibrant man with a memory that could bring back life in 1940´s Cradock Va instantly. He sent Mom so many things in the mail that were...

It is truly a honor to be able to say I knew my great great grandad. He was an amazing "GDB" and has filed mine and many others with so many good memories. Going to visit GDB was my favorite activity with him at the door with open arms and always a smile. It is so amazing to see how he touched so many others lives with such kindness. He will live on and I will never forget that smile.

Mr. Cutchins was a class act in all his dealings with those he worked with, no matter what their position was. Also loved his sense of humor. Honored to have been able to work with him for a many years. Thoughts and prayers for the family

Prayers of Strength and Comfort for the family. Mr Cutchins was truly an awesome man... and I say that with the utmost respect. When I worked at Globe Iron as a young man back in the late 70's, Mr Cutchins treated everyone with a healthy dose of respect, no matter what your title or position was. May you Sleep In Peace, Mr. Bob!

I first met Bob when I was Archivist/Historian for the Sargeant Memorial rom. He was working on his book of Cradock section of Portsmouth. Years later he came to see me at the Wallace Memorial History Room where he gave us papers on Cradock. He was a joy to meet and had so much knowledge of our area. He will be missed.

I first met Bob at Globe Iron in 1971. I was a new employee assigned to Shipping and he was in Sales. Most people there saw me as another pip squeak ( i was 20) kid but he talked treated me like i'd already been there forever. I didn't know he'd been living in Pinewell all these years but i never forgot him and all those good memories i have of the people at Globe.

The Heavens have gained a beautiful Angel in Bob Cutchins! I can just imagine that you and Ruth are dancing among the stars to Glenn Miller! And, you no doubt are delighting in reuniting with wonderful friends and swapping stories of the "Good Ole Days" in Cradock - a place you dearly loved. You set the bar high for us who remain to cherish your memory. Your love, loyalty and friendship will never be forgotten. God Speed, dear Bob!

So sorry to hear about Bob he was such a gentleman and a wonderful husband to Ruth. He will be reunited with Ruth, her sister Marge and Marge´s husband.Peace be with you.
