Bert was a friend of my mom and dad (another Notre Damer) and he was always very playful with us. He was very much loved by us younger generation types. It wasn´t until later that I began to hear stories about how talented he was. I just remembered him as Funny Bert! Don Gabriel

I just returned from a trip and, with much sorrow, learned about Bert's passing. For many years when I was an aide and scheduler for US Congressman Charlie Dent (also going back to Charlie's early years as a PA State Rep and State Senator), Bert was a much-used card in our office roladex. He was our "go-to guy" in hundreds of situations, and we could ALWAYS count on Bert's wisdom, his community knowledge and devotion, his dependability, and his immense courtesy. The Lehigh Valley has lost a true leader. Bert will be sorely missed by all who knew him. May his family find comfort in knowing God has blessed him on earth and will continue to do so in heaven. Our condolences.
