Dear Opal,
I was very sad to learn of your family's loss. Bob was always generous to me and my family. He was always fair and honest, even when I had wished he wasn't so honest. You always new he would take a candid approach, I truly respected him for that. I apologize in advance that I will not be able to attend the services. I will be flying home from Washington DC on Friday, I will come see you then.
