Not sure what to say?

Robert became Dean of the Lawrence Conservatory, rescuing me from a year as acting Dean, allowing me to happily resume my position as assistant Dean. At his interview, he thoughtfully asked me why I hadn´t applied for the position. I knew then that we could work well together! We woujd laugh about how I occasionally needed to hold his kite strings and how he often needed to cut them and lift me up. It was a joy to work with a such a friend and colleague.

Robert was an extraordinary cellist, teacher, mentor and colleague...a gift.

I still think of Robert all the time. Jeremy

Robert Dodson had the gift of pulling potential talent out of his charges in the most human way. I knew him as my dean, cello prof ( with an infinite number of editions of the Bach Suites to explore), teaching mentor and principle cellist of the Toronto Radio Orchestra in the 80´s, of which I was member along with my husband Tony, concertmaster. And friend. Rest in Peace. Jennifer and Tony Flint, Switzerland

I remember Dean Dodson fondly and send condolences to his friends and family. Linda Gates, Oberlin College Dean of Students Emerita

Dean Dodson (knew him at Lawrence when I was a student) was a wonderful musician and administrator, two qualities I haven't often encountered in higher ed. He was also generous, thoughtful, and dedicated to excellence. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Dean Dodson was the kindest soul walking the corridors of Boston University School of Music. I always admired his gentleness, wisdom and empathy. As Rumi once wrote: "your joy is your sorrow unmasked, the deeper the sorrow carves into your soul, the more joy you can contain". May this time of mourning allow you to carry that joy in the future.

Dreams From the Heart Bouquet

I'm very sorry for your loss. I'll always know him as Dean Dodson from my time at Lawrence University. And will always remember his kindness and understanding when I went through a tough patch my junior year there. My sincerest condolences are with Alberta and all the Dodson family.
