Cookie, Stacey, and family: I was so fortunate to meet Bob and share in several Ely family gatherings. What a pleasure to have known such a wonderfully kind and open man. He always had a smile on his face which reflected the good man he thoroughly was. My love and sympathy for you all Judith Baxter

I worked with Bob at Roane State in the early 90's. He was a soft-spoken gentleman with a great sense of humor who treated those who worked for him with respect. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Cookie, Stacey and family,
I was so very sorry to hear about Bob. It's hard to realize it's been so many years since we spent such good times together at baseball games, but those are wonderful memories and will never be forgotten. You have a very special family, and I know they will be a source of great comfort at such a hard time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Much love

Wayne Guthrie:
In May at Uncle Malcolm's Birthday Party I met my Cousin Robert David for the first time in my memory. I know I met him as a child, but that was probably 60 years ago. We had a very nice conversation and I really enjoyed my time with him. I am sure he will be missed by all his family and friends. Just meeting him one time and observing who he was I am sure he is in a much better place right now.

Bob was the most influential man I have ever known. He shaped my life as a husband, son, brother, friend and teacher. The only person who could ever call me Andy! I will miss him dearly!
