Not sure what to say?

Did not know this wonderful man was gone
He introduced my husband and I when he was a resident in 1980 and spoke At our wedding
He will always be remembered for so many good times we all shared while caring for his patients
He indeed saved many lives, he will not be forgotten
Condolences to his family

My mom and dad, thanks to Bob!

We loved Dr. Pettigrove's obituary! This is exactly the man we remember. My father, Dr HF Cable and mother Jolene (Cable) Wolter were introduced by Bob on their rides from south Texas to UTMB during nursing and medical school. He was always so giving and had a compassion to live.. to please... to heal. He fought to be of service til the end and upheld the Hippocratic Oath to the fullest! God bless our dear friend!

I'm a nurse and you wouldn't know he was old on the phone. Plus, you better know all your stuff about your patient before you called because he would ask. He had a sharp mind indeed. He was also polite, caring, and I'm happy I knew him. Thank you Dr. Fordtran!

A true legacy, but I ask this question. Who will pick up the baton and keep the legacy going?

God bless Dr.Fordtran ..he was truly a great physician. He really did care about his patients. My dad was one of them. Thank you Dr.Pettigrove for the this wonderful Tribute. Dr.Fordtran truly deserved recognition and honor.

Dr. Fordtran had the heart of a teacher. When I was taking a course on how to read 12 Lead EKGs, I used to save ones I had questions about to show him. He always took a few seconds to share what he knew. As a nurse with 35 years experience, I can tell you Dr. Fordtran's actions are rare and much valued.

Such a beautiful tribute to Dr Fordtran , who was what a true medical professional should be.. I remember him well, as he made his rounds at Spohn Hospital. A gentleman , indeed...and All those that have proceeded him in death, the true compassionate medical professionals, who cared about their patients....He shall be honored by the the ONE who was the source of his strength...The important one, our Lord. May he rest in peace. Job well done. Dr Fordtran

My sympathies and prayers to Dr. Fordtran's family. I learned much from Dr. Fordtran during my administrative residency at MMC in 1976/1977 and during my service as Executive Assistant to President of MMC during which I worked with the Board of Managers including Doc Fordtran. I thank Dr. Pettigrove for preparing such a beautiful letter and Bob Fordtran story. Doc Fordtran was an amazing leader and caregiver at MMC and in Corpus Christi.

We need doctors like him and the rest of the...
