Weeks prior to his passing, Bob had his first ever hole-in-one at Richmond Golf Course in Rhode Island. It happened around or about October 21, or 22, 2020, with the sun in our eyes. To the best of my recollection he struck a 9 iron into the par 3 12th hole. The 12th green is slightly elevated, about 125 yards. In the autumn sun, we couldn't see the ball go in from the tee box. Bob was a wonderful person...I enjoyed meeting with him and two other buddies for coffee on Thursday mornings at the "Hornets Nest in Branford. He was a positive and kind man...he will be missed...Rest in Peace Bob!
