Bob was an instructor at MCAS New River, when I was Program Coordinator for Campbell University. The instructors were a small, tight group that were student centered, and Bob taught Music Appreciation for us for several years. A fine man. Condolences to his family.

Oh, what a delight it was for me to meet and spend time in the presence of Mr. Bob Gaskins. It was shortly after we had integrated high school that I not only came in contact with Mr. Gaskins , but I was able to become to know him as a loving sharing man who seem to not only love music, but also love people regardless of who they were. This wonderful person was my introduction to the flute and was an amazing teacher. When he smiled, you knew you did good, and you were always striving for that smile. He made such a difference in so many people's lives. To this day, at the age of 43, I still play my flute. Hewas a lovely person and will be missed.
