Robert GUINN Obituary

Robert Rembert Guinn, 78, of Bastrop, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 at his residence. Robert was born on August 27, 1936 at St. David's Hospital in Austin, Texas. He graduated from William B Travis High School in Austin in 1954 and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Robert was a Civil Engineer and was employed for 35 years for the Texas Highway Department.
After retirement, he pursued his interest in ranching and owned and operated the Pecan Grove Plantation. Robert was an active member of the Pecan Growers Association and Texas Professional Engineers. He was an avid football fan, especially of University of Texas and The Dallas Cowboys and was also a big fan of Texas baseball.
Robert is survived by his wife, Nina, and children, Mark and wife Kim, Robby and husband Rich Berger, and Rhonda and partner Howard Berger; sister-in-law, Shirley Holloway; grandchildren, Cathy, Ashley, Clint, Ryan Ann, and Austin; great-grandchildren, Ian, Emma, and Grant Halstead; mother-in-law, Florence Foster; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M., Chaplain Ronald Kelling officiating. Interment will be at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to your favorite charity on his behalf.
