Not sure what to say?

I only learned of professor Hawkin's passing today. He was my mentor for the MBA thesis at NYU. He was a man of great intelligence. His academic accomplishments speak for themselves. May he rest in peace.

Dean Hawkins was an awesome cool mentor, advisor and guide -- always there to help every students. I first met him in 1989 at RPI's Lally School of Management and he has made a positive impact on my career. We kept in touch since, and spoke to him in July 2008. Many alums have shared how he had a positive impact in their career. His goodness and value touched many. I am still in shock at his loss. Recently in June 2008, He provided guidance to my 15 year old and helped him in decision...

How sad I was to hear of Bob Hawkin's sudden death. May the love of family and friends comfort you in the days ahead. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Bob was instrumental in my getting my Ph.D. - he was a friend and mentor. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and my thoughts are with his family. All of us in the IB community will miss him.

I was totally shocked when I learned the sudden death of Bob Hawkins. I saw him last May when he came to our Campus as an outside reviewer of our U.S. Department of Education's Business International Education(BIEL) grant program.

He was always gentle, knowledgeable, and caring. We talked about the growth of International Business Programs over the years and his experiences as President of the AIB. He was a decent person, treating senior professors, junior faculty and Ph.D. students...

Robert (Bob) G. Hawkins to all of us at Georgia Tech CIBER was boss, patient guide,

His loss is both personal and institutional and our thoughts turn to you Estelle, to your family, at this time of grief and also to alll of Bob's friends. Bob was unique in his combination of the...

Bob Hawkins was such a nice, giving person. He was my teacher and mentor at NYU. His course on economics of multinational corporations was very popular and, when first introduced, was perhaps the first of its kind in US business schools. I worked on a UN project with him. As a member of my dissertation committee, he gave me much-needed support and guidance. I remember him saying that I “should not sell myself short.” He was one of the towering early pioneers at AIB and NYU, yet he was always...

Dear Estelle,

Like many other friends and admirers of Bob, we were heart-broken to learn the sad news.
We would like to acknowledge Bob’s contribution to Texas A&M International University. As a founding member of the Global Advisory Board of the PhD Program, he provided valuable advice and counsel to the University and to me personally. Not only did he lend his name and prestige to the program and the University, but attended the inaugural meeting of the Board in 2004, and several...
