Me and my siblings would like to send our sympathies to the Hawthorne family. My older sister Lorraine, who now lives back East remembered Mr. Hawthorne from Alessandro Junior High (now March Mountain High School). My older brother Ernie remembers his name but never had him as a teacher. I had Mr. Hawthorne as my English teacher during my 8th grade in 1967-1968. I taught science at Alessandro Junior High School from 1977-1979. Because my husband was serving in the Military at Rhein Main, Germany, my sons and I left Alessandro and lived in Germany for 18 months. However, it was a joy to know Bob whenever our paths crossed during faculty meetings. Yes, I remember, Bob; he was a gentleman.
