I worked with Fred during the Fifties and Sixteys as a State Trooper in Statesville. Pat and family, I will always cherish the time I spent with Judge Hedrick as his legal assistant during 1958-1961. He was truly a remarkable person and I learned more than a life time's worth of legal knowledge. His dog Piper (I believe during that time) was always a companion to me as well as him. I will never forget the wonderful memories created during the four years I worked for Judge Hedrick as his Legal Assistant. He was like a father to me; a father away from home.
