Dr.Malkus was my doctor when I first moved to La Mesa. He was so kind and an excellent diagnostician and a really great man of fine character, caring, helpful and compassionate. I´m saddened by his passing.

I first met Dr. Malkus when I started working at the 54th St. Hebrew Home in 1989 and he was serving as the Home´s Medical Director. (He might have also been on the board then, I can´t recall, although I know at one time, he also served in that capacity). What I remember vividly about Dr. Malkus was his warmth and kindness to everyone. He was beloved by the nurses because he was responsive to their calls, routinely came in to see his patients, and was truly interested in how they were doing. The Hebrew Home was eventually sold in 1996. However, Dr. Malkus and his beautiful wife, Marcia, continued to support the Home. I saw them year after year at our annual galas. His passing was a tremendous loss to all who knew him. He was a kind and empathetic person and the type of doctor we don´t see often enough today. May his memory be a blessing and may the family know what a difference he made in the lives of those he served.
Most sincerely,
Pam

My heart is overwhelmed with gratitude for Dr Malkus, and the many years of personal care he gave to all the Peters family. He was my doctor from my grade school days on into my college years. Dr Malkus was consistently warm, engaged, and available. He knew every member of our family, and took care of my parents for nearly 50 years. I love this man. Dr Malkus, Thank you. Thank you. Rest in peace.

So very sad to hear the news of Bob´s passing in today´s newspaper. He was a wonderful friend and colleague to my twin brother, Dave, and myself. He was so highly respected by all of the San Diego medical profession for his personal and warm approach to patient care. I, and all who knew him will miss him.

Our deepest condolences to the entire family. I would share this memory. Some years back when Bob and Marcia were in Arizona there was a reception held for the U of I Medical School Alumni. I am an Associate Clinical Professor at the U of I for the last few decades. When we arrived at the Arizona event who did we see there but Dr. Bob and Marcia. What a great surprise that was! We had a wonderful conversation and reminisced about our formative years in medicine. His presence there speaks to Bob's dedication as a physician and an unwavering appreciation of his education. A remarkable man and physician he will be missed.

Dr. Malkus was, quiet simply, the best. The Camacho Family doctor for many many years. My most enduring memory is that his mere presence at whatever we were dealing with was a comfort. Thank you to his family for sharing this special person with us.
