Robert Holt Meyer, 81, professor of English and Humanities, died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Sutter Roseville Hospital.Bob was a much loved husband, father, friend, mentor, and scholar.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Isabel (Gonçalves) Meyer; son Christopher R. Meyer and wife Elizabeta Meyer and their children, Nicholas and Christina Meyer of Fullerton, California; daughter Zan Meyer Walker- Gonçalves and wife Kimberly Walker- Gonçalves and their children Stefan and Serafina Walker of Greenfield, Massachusetts.
A celebration of his life will be held June 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Placer Buddhist Church in Penryn, Califorinia.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to:

I only just learned of Dr. Meyer's passing. We have lost the presence of a great soul. Blessings to the family. I met Dr. Meyer as my Sensei many years ago; the spiritual influence and many happy memories have remained with me always. Thank you.

Very sad to hear, Bob was the best martial arts Master ever! I was his student in 1978, I have never forgotten his voice and strong and kind personality. Bye for now, see you when I see you...

I am sadden to learn that Bob has passed. Not only was he my dean but my Tai Chi master as well. What a wonderful soul. He will be missed.
