Dear Children,

Sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad.

His wife, your mother, Marian Wheet Newton and I have been life-long friends. I visited them several times in Newton and Sudbury.

Although I only remember you as young children, I know how proud she is of you and I, like she, hope you will remember all the good times you had as a family.

Sincere condolences to the Newton family at the loss of a wonderful man. I have vivid and happy memories of walking through the woods on nature hikes with Bob and his son Dan here in Waterville Valley. He visited here often and it was always a pleasure to chat with him.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for blessing Uncle Bob's endeavors, enabling Him to accomplish so much before taking him home.

Surround his immediate family with the love and comfort that only You can provide. Help all to draw near to You, knowing that as they do, You will draw near to them. In the turbulence of grief, be their guiding light, carrying them when necessary. Prove Yourself faithful, Lord. No one can love the way You do.

Thank you for hearing my prayer, only because of what Jesus accomplished on my behalf. Amen.

My condolences to Jennifer, Diana and Danny. I have fond memories of your Dad, and my most vivid memory was of him riding horses. I know you will all miss him, and my prayers are with you all. -

Dr. Newton was a legend in his field. In person he was warm and kind, and always quick with a clever retort and a friendly smile. He was a dear part of our family here at New England Cryogenic Center, and he will be sorely missed.
