Robert Nies Obituary

Nies, Robert Alfred

Robert Alfred Nies, Jr., born on November 30, 1935, in Dayton, OH, left this world to be at peace on July 24, 2025.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, to Robert Alfred and Hazel (Thomas) Nies. He taught for 30 years in the Dayton School System, also coaching fencing and tennis. After serving as the President of the DEA, he was instrumental in negotiating the first contract with the Dayton Board of Education. In 1987, he began his second career as a realtor in the city of Dayton.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary, brother Ron, daughter, Kelly, son, Mark, and "German son", Norbert Steier (Anke), five grandchildren (Mary Hamilton Miller (David), Sara Hamilton Stinnett (Chase), Tyler Nies (Taylor), Noah Hamilton (Lindsay), and Ryan Nies) and eight great-grandchildren.
