ROBERT LAWRENCE, JR. Died on August 22, 2016 from cardiac arrest at the age of 64. Loving husband of Nancy Peters for 47 years. Beloved father of Shellene (Bruce) Berry, Melanie (Gil) Toth, and Robert L. (Amy) Peters III. Cherished grandfather of Jillian, Madelyn, and Katelyn Berry, Maya, Jack, and Reid Toth, Robert L. IV and Nora Peters. Dear son of Beverly and the late Robert L. Peters Sr. Caring brother of Kathryn (David) Hudyma and Susan (Louis) Young. Retired from DTE after 45 years and a devoted Lions fan. Funeral Service Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd., Livonia. Visitation Thursday 1 to 8 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. until time of service.

Our lunchtime card games with Cassise, Potter, Cox, etc. Hoodwinking me into specializing in MOVs, but maybe you knew how it would define my entire career - thank you for that! Above all you are remembered for being such a good friend and mentor as well as showing all of us a shining example of how to be a good husband.

I am very sorry to hear about Rob. I worked with him at DTE for several years. I enjoyed his company and I will miss him. The last time I recall seeing him was at Grandparents Day at a grade School. Our Grandchildren were in the same school. We were also friends on Facebook. I always enjoyed talking and working with Rob. RIP my friend.

Growing up with Shelly, Melanie and Robbie means I've known Rob since I was a little boy. Back then I always thought he was so cool. As I grew older I recognized him as a man of high caliber. My favorite memory of him was at Melanie's wedding during his excellent speech when he welcomed Gil into the family as a member of "Our Tribe". I just thought that was an awesome statement and will admit I've borrowed it numerous times over the years with friends, boyfriends and girlfriends of my three step children. You guys are laying so heavy on my heart right now. I've always thought of you two as my sisters and you as my little brother. I pray so much for God to strengthen, help you and uphold you and your Mom through all this. Love Mike
