Robert George Price passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on June 17, 2015 at the Buckingham where he had been living for the past three years. Bob was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Tercek) Price, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle (Ida) Price, his sister, Alvene (Neil) Young, and his brother, John (Faire) Price. He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Mark K.) Monroe, and his grandchildren, Price Kirkland Monroe (Allison) and Allison Elizabeth Monroe. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Angela Tercek Schroeder and a number of nieces and nephews.
Born in Waukegan, Illinois on November 9, 1913, Bob was a life-long golfer. He was the Glen Flora Country Club Champion several times before beginning his career at American Can Company where he worked for 44 years.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Buckingham as well as other caregivers for their assistance over the past three years. They would especially like to thank Mr. Tony Dorian, his caregiver, who also became his friend.
Services will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer, on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at noon with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bayou Bend Gardens Endowment, P.O. Box 6826, Houston, Texas 77265-6826.
