To the world you were but one, but to us you were the whole world. We miss you so much.

You taught me unconditional love, Bob. I will forever be grateful for the time we had together and the things I learned from you. Through all of the good and hard times, my love never waivered, I hope it brought you some joy in the time we had together. I will see you again, “shiny soul”. Until then, please watch over all of us left behind, especially your children. I love you. “For a moment you held in your hand, brilliant as a star, fragile as a flower, a piece of my heart”.

I met Bob through a college friend and fellow EPA diver when they were passing through Miami on a dive trip aboard the BOLD. His enthusiasm, his big smile and his love for his children are what will stay with me in my memory of him. What a tremendous loss.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends; may they all find peace.

Bob was one of the many friends and colleagues I met through the EPA scientific diving program. I have met hundreds of people but few were as genuine and positive as Bob. Always willing to lend a hand and help and always with a smile on his face. My trips to Gulf Breeze will be a little less happy without seeing Bob.

Fly fishing trips with Capt. Bob were the highlight of my visits to Florida. He was a joy to be with and gave me many memories that will last a lifetime. He will be missed. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Billy, Jackie, Biff, Susan, Anne...we don't know what to say...our hearts are broken too...Bob was very special...all my memories are from his 7th grade year to his first few years in Pensacola...I have great memories; Bob was always fun to be around...your entire family holds a special place in our hearts...our St Joe years were foundational to what the Lord is doing in our lives now...wish we could be there to express our love and be of some kind of comfort...

Rest in peace Capn.Bob. Condolences to the family and all of your many friends. Thanks for the memories we made on our two fishing trips with my family. You have hooked us on inshore light tackle fishing. We will miss you and your great personality forever. Save me one more trip to catch that barracuda that got away when I someday join you on the Great Water in the sky. Goodbye my friend.

I am currently in Okinawa, Japan and just got the tragic news. Bob and I met when our boats crossed paths some 14 years ago. Bob never met a stranger and his radiant personality always shown through. I will miss my friend and fishing buddy. God bless the Quarles family in their time of loss.
