Robert Raus Obituary

Robert Raus
Robert "Bob" Raus, a beloved husband and devoted father, passed away suddenly on October 1, 2025, in Monroe, Connecticut, at the age of 72. Born on July 26, 1953, in Stamford, Connecticut, Bob lived his life with unwavering dedication to those he loved.
His smile was infectious – brightening every room he entered, even if it may have gotten him in trouble when he was younger at school. He would strike up a conversation with everyone he met, making strangers feel like old friends. His kindness was insurmountable, and he wouldn't hesitate to go out of his way for any of his family or friends.
Bob was a devoted husband to his wife of 44 years, Noreen. Together, they built an incredible life, grounded in laughter and love. He was also a devoted father to his daughters, Amanda and Ashley. No matter their ages, he was always there offering unconditional love and support. His saying was "family first." His heart grew even more when he was blessed with four granddaughters, Siena, McKenna, Alexis and Hailey. He spoiled them as only their grandpa could – with ice cream!
Robert is survived by his wife, Noreen Farrell Raus; his daughter, Amanda Raus and her husband, Todd Piro, and their daughters, McKenna and Alexis; his daughter, Ashley Flattery and her husband, Andrew Flattery, and their daughters, Siena and Hailey. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. John Raus and his wife, Joanne; his sister, Maria Politica, her husband, Steve; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
He was predeceased by his father, John; his mother, Matilda; and his brother, Donald.
Bob made an impact on those lucky enough to know him, and his family and friends will miss him dearly.
Calling hours will be held Monday, October 6, 2025, from 4 – 8 p.m. at Spadaccino Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Tpke., in Monroe. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 7th, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen Church, in Trumbull. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, in Darien.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made in Bob's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.spadaccinofuneralhome.com .

I was sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a great person with an amazing personality. I've known Bob (Bubba) since I was a little kid and have great memories of him as my substitute teacher and High School Freshman Football Coach back in 1977. My deepest sympathies to his wife, children, and entire family. Please know he was one of a kind that will be greatly missed.

John and Joanne...so sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. It's never easy losing one you love, especially so suddenly. My boys played cards with him and have nothing but good things to say about Bob. Keep your memories close to your heart, they make the grief a little easier.

Noreen and family, I can´t begin to describe my sadness upon learning of Bobby´s passing. He was true blue family man and a great friend. He was a marvelous ball player, who could hit homeruns so easily. I was fortunate to vacation with Bob on a cruise out of NYC down to the Caribbean. Fun memories of just hanging out enjoying. Again from myself and my wife Patti, our sincere condolences.

Bobby was a neighbor when we were kids on Carlisle Place, where we played a lot of hardball and hit-the-bat. We went to school together from Ryle Elementary to Rippowam High. I was so happy to see Bobby at our 40th high school reunion at Pellicci's and got to catch up on old times. Bobby was always such a gentleman and his smile was infectious. He will be missed by his neighborhood friends and Warrior classmates. Rest in Peace...

So very sorry to hear about Bubba. I had the pleasure of meeting him through my husband, Don. My kids loved him and his famous chili. He teased my son, Josh, about blowing his leaves or mowing his grass for more chili. We will all miss him. My deepest sympathies.

I was so upset when I heard the sad news about Bobby. His obituary was perfect and spot on! He was a lovely man. I loved his smile and gentle nature too! He had a wicked sense of humor. It was fun growing up with Bobby in our Waterside neighborhood. Going to the local Melfair Market and seeing Bobby´s smiling face behind the deli counter. Last time I saw Bobby, he told me about his beautiful daughters and granddaughters and showed me pictures. He was so
Proud of his loving family. So sorry for your huge loss. He will be greatly missed. Sincerely with Love, Rina Tozzoli
