Dear Carolyn,
I think you know already what a tremendous influence Bob has been in my life. I can still remember his reassuring comments and easy smile when I first met him at his first management meeting at Global Marine. He was a role model in so many ways - his ethics, his concern for employees, his relationships with our customers - but none more important than his leadership. All of his best qualities would shine through when he made presentations to our shareholders or investors. His leadership style was one of empowering employees and setting expectations of excellence. It was an environment where most employees flourished and loved their jobs and the company they worked for.
It was truly my great privilege to work for Bob and get to know him and you on a personal level. I try in my own role as a leader in a drilling company to bring the same ethics and values to what we do every day, just like Bob did every day we worked together.
You and your family have my deepest sympathy for such a profound loss, but I feel there must be much solace to be found in the memories of the rich life you and Bob shared.

Mrs. Rose, regrettably, I was unable to be present for Mr. Rose's services as we were in Switzerland during that time. I would like to share a few words about someone I have greatly admired and considered a dear friend.
It is well known that Mr. Rose was not only an icon in the industry, but a mentor and friend to countless people. He was responsible for hiring many of us and guiding our career paths. Amazingly, he always had time for questions, suggestions, words of wisdom, or a “good old Cajun joke or two”. He loved to laugh and as someone said, “A day without laughter isn't worth living.” He laughed often and it was always genuine, like him.
In the almost 20 years that I had known Mr. Rose, I cannot remember an occasion that he wasn't smiling. Whenever we crossed paths he always took time to say hello. There is no doubt that he was passionate about life. To me, he was devoted to his family, work, and friends. I admired the way he kept in touch with his colleagues and friends after his retirement.
Mrs. Rose, you have been on my mind and in my heart. All sorrow comes from love. I remembered your 50th wedding anniversary dinner at Lakeside and reflected on the remarkable journey the two of you have shared. Whenever Mr. Rose spoke of you or his family, there was pure joy in his voice. In fact, I clearly recall how choked up he was during the slideshow, especially the photos of the two of you when you were just beginning your life together. The speech he made touched Roger and I deeply and we were honored to witness your celebration of love.
While we are so saddened by his passing, we are encouraged by his example of living life to the fullest. He really left his mark and made the world a better place than he found it. We are grateful for the gift of Mr. Rose in our lives. We are blessed because we received his gift before God called him elsewhere. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Mrs. Rose during this difficult time. May the wonderful memories you shared warm your heart and keep you smiling. May God's love wrap and enfold you, embrace you and guide you, and bring you comfort.
And to Mr. Rose, you will be sorely missed my dear friend. May you rest in eternal peace.
Fondly,
Liz Capritto Hunt & Roger Hunt

Mrs. Rose,
'
I Mavericked as well with Bob in 2004. He was a great Maverick Brother, always willing to lend a hand. One of my fondest memories of our Maverick year was on the last day of the ride we have our TV Rodeo. Bob was entered in what is know as the Wild River Crossing event. This involves running your horse into the arena full speed, having it jump over a blue tarp (horses dont like that too much), turn around repeat and run back out of the arena. Well when Bob's horse got to that tarp at full speed, there was no way he was going to jump that tarp. He send poor Bob sailing over the front on to the dirt. Much to everyones laughter and grins (after we confirmed he wasnt hurt, of course), Bob dusted himself off and got back on that horse. I am sure that is pretty much how he approached most of things in life. Adios

Carolyn, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He was such a great guy and a real inspiration to me and so many others. I knew him professionally at first, but we became friends. We so enjoyed our trip together on Rovas Rail in Africa. He will be missed. We love y'all.

Bob rode with Wagon 7 on Salt Grass Trail. We shared many good times together. The best was trying to 'one up' each other with who could bring the best bottle of wine. Sharing that LaFitte Chateau in a dixie cup, by the camp, exchanging stories, will always be remembered. Bob loved people, loved life, loved his family and never failed to express it. He is gone but never forgotten. We'll miss you, cowboy.

Carolyn, Robert and Suzanne,
I am so sorry for your loss of Bob. I will miss his smile, his energy and his friendship. I remember his impish grin. We would quail hunt with .410s and I would miss, he would hit and then I'd see that little grin. I will miss that and so much more.

Dear Mrs. Rose and precious family. I worked at Diamond Offshore in the 90s and Mr. Rose was our amazing leader. He had an infectious joy and ebullience that wafted over to all that had contact with him; An amazingly intelligent and sweet man, yet, tough when called for - I admired him and still do and just learned today of his passing. I am truly sorry for your loss on Earth, yet rejoice with you that one day we will all meet again and share lots of laughs and sweet memories. May you truly feel the Mighty Arms of God Almighty during this time of mourning. God Bless you and keep you always. Deborah McDonald

Miss Caroline, Bob and I mavericked together and being in the little older group got to spend some nice but sleepless time together. Never met anyone more kind and caring or tougher. My wrangler wrangled his horse as well as mine and was also deeply saddened to hear about your loss and all of the Vaqueros. I will always remember his contagious smile and quick wit.I can assure you he will always be remembered by his maverick and Vaquero brothers!

Miss Carolyn: I am Aimee Dobbs brother. A family man is the best description of Bob. I always saw him as a fun loving rascal, who didn't mind bucking the system or creating new paths in business. I suspect Bob is organizing Heaven to have the best "mansions" ready for his family. I think the memorial service, will be a great reflection of Bob and his love of life. Prayers to your family

Our memory of Bob will always be on our H-D motorcycles riding the beautiful autumn painted Ozarks! With the wind in our hair and smiles on our faces, OH what a great smile Bob always wore, our Heights Mafia buddies and The Rose Boys rode the twisted trails of Arkansas. Afterwards, enjoying the warm, inviting hospitality at their farm. Truly, some of our most treasured two-wheeled adventures were with Bob and his generous brothers and sister.
Carolyn, you are blessed to have such a strong and loving bunch of "characters" to take you under their wings in your time of sympathy. Please know that we love all of you.

Dear Rose Family,
I am a Tejas Vaquero and Bob was my Maverick Brother. We shared a very special bond and spent a great deal of time together in the saddle and at our camp. He was a cowboy at heart. We missed him at our Trek this past week. His passing was noted at our ceremony for Vaqueros who recently left this world for a better place. It was a wonderful and moving tribute to our fallen friends. Bob will be a forever remembered cowboy in our group.

“When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are. It means that you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles may stand between us. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart. For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost.”
