Not sure what to say?

Dr. Robert Sanford was my newborn daughters Dr. in 1969. So sorry to hear of his passing. .Great Dr and was very patient with educating this new mom on her birth defect.

I once work for Dr.Sanford at Semmes Murphrey clinic for 13 years everytime i saw him in the clinic with the kids he put a smile on there face. im sadden to hear about his passing. He was a great pioneer for the city.

I am so sorry that I didn't learn of Alec's death until after the funeral. In addition to being a great doctor and surgeon, he was a great person as well. He was a great help to me during one of the darkest times in my life and I will always be grateful. I have spent many evenings at his house just talking. He will definitely be missed.

I am so very sad to learn about the death of Alex. I last saw him at our 50th Hendrix reunion this year and had a very moving encounter with him. As we talked, his compassion, gentleness, and overall specialness was so apparent. I feel so blessed to have had this contact with such a wonderful man. My heart goes out to you as you struggle to endure the sadness of your loss.

Dr. Sanford was the most compassionate Dr. I have ever known. He treated my sister, Tammy, My Mom Peggy Marshall and many of my cousins and Aunts over the years for VHL tumors. Many of my family would not have survived without him and his knowledge and skills. We will all deeply miss him and we all loved him deeply. Sheryl Cook

Dr. Sandford save my son Barry Joseph Cannady life 13 years ago. Dr. Sanford always showed my son and family love. You are truly going to be missed.

My daughter, Breanna Jean Gann, would not be celebrating her 13th birthday this coming Friday if it wasn't for Dr. Sanford and his team at Le Bonheur. He was so kind every time he came to talk with us about what the next step would be. Because of Dr. Sanford's wonderful bedside manner, my daughter has never been afraid of any doctor, and was a real trooper with her latest injury (a burn). My daughter was disappointed when we found he had retired, but we understand. To Dr. Sanford's children...

What can we say but our son, John Brian Jones, would not be here today, if not for Dr. Sanford. God performed His miracles through this great, brilliant, kind, passionate and talented man. At the beginning of Dr. Sanford's brain tumor program dream at LeBonheur Children's Hospital, our son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Our family knew of his vision to make the hospital stay the best that could possibly be for children with brain tumors and are thrilled that his vision has become a...

Dr. Sanford did surgery on my daughter Alexandria 27 years ago at the age of 3 months old, then again 2 year later, we made our trips to Memphis to see him every year until he retired, he was such a wonderful man, he was loved by so many, I hope he got to play golf like he wanted to after he retired, God be with you family and your LeBonheur family, thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rest In Peace Dr. Sanford.
